Hair is disgusting. Hair is intimate. Intimacy leaves evidence. Three everyday objects. Three simple
interactions interrupted. Hair takes the place of what should connect, support, or ignite. Hair instead of
a cord. Hair tangled between us. Hair blocking the sound.

Our Concept
A Hair Between Us is a collection of deliberately uncomfortable objects that turn connection into contamination created for the competition
Useless Design Awards 2025, launched by Circ Studio.
Three objects:
earphones, a belt, a lighter leash. Instead of cords, supports, or links, there’s hair. Human hair. Intimate, intrusive, impossible to ignore.
What should connect us now repels us. What should feel natural becomes disturbingly close. A simple gesture turns into hesitation.
The project unfolds as an AI-generated video experiment, where synthetic imagery amplifies the tension between attraction and disgust pushing the objects beyond reality into something eerily plausible.
Sometimes design isn’t here to improve your life, just to make you aware of how uncomfortable it already is.
